Library Loot

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Alessandra and Eva that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries!

I've been bombarding the library near my work recently. I swear it's the tiniest library branch you will ever see. There's not even a drop box! But since it's so small I do have fun browsing and finding cool books. I'm going to have to take a break soon though and start in on the books I own....which is a ton of books.

Anyway, yesterday I picked up two cook books. I've been wanting to cook more and am trying to find something fun to whip up for Easter weekend.

I already tried a yummy Orzo recipe with Italian sausage, red bell peppers, tomatoes, and red pepper flakes from Giada's book:Rachel Ray's book has a ton of recipes and I like how they are 30 minute meals...but there are no pictures, darn it all.I'm currently reading a cute little novel called Godmother by Carolyn Turgeon:And I decided to pick up one of her other novels, the Rain Village (aren't these covers beautiful!?!):
Finally, The Bone People is the all-time favorite book of one of my friend's from back in undergrad college. I thought I'd give it a try. It sounds so interesting but I'm not sure I'll get around to reading it this time. I hope so!If you enjoy going to the library, join in on the Library Loot!

  5. I don't know what Rain Village is about but the cover makes me want to pick it up and look inside it.

  6. I hate it when cookbooks don't have pictures. Not everyone can get the idea of a recipe by reading it. I like the visual and will put cookbooks back on the shelf if they don't have pictures.

  7. That cover for Rain Village is gorgeous! Very well done. Like the cover for Godmother as well, most especially the title graphics.

I enjoy watching cooking shows, especially Giada's. I miss The Naked Chef, wish that show was still on and Nigella Lawson's shows as well. I need to get both on DVD at some point since I never seem to catch them in reruns.
